Project 03_Phase 04: Section and Elevation (part 1)

Homework due on Wednesday, Nov 13, 2013

1. Whoever did not have the physical model finished by the class today (Nov 11) will need to finish the physical model by the beginning of the Wednesday class. Present to your group during class.

2. Please design two versions of facades for east, west and south elevations, so six elevations in total. I suggest that you also go to the library or go online to look for some good architectural examples with good facade design. ArchDaily could be a good resource. Pay attention to the sun path and decide that how you want to control how much natural light you desire for the different spaces in your building. Please print out these two sets of facade design at 1/8"=1'-0" scale on two 11x17" paper. Please also include people and cars on the streets/sidewalk by the sides of the building on these elevations. Due at the beginning of the class and we will have group discussion on this.

3. Please make a isometric view of your digital model. This version of digital model needs to be very close to your final design, for example, it needs to be down to details like hand rails. This isometric drawing needs to be "see-through-able", which means it should be transparent, but you need to distinguish between visible lines and hidden lines through line-weights during post-production. Please print this out on 11x17 paper. Due by the end of the class.
